Arco Iris Boutique Homestay (www.arcoiris.in) in association with goabuddy.in brings to South Goa a unique art show titled, “The Eternal Spring” by Shan Re, a reputed artist from Bangalore. Part of the proceeds from the show will be in aid of Tara Trust (www.taraforchildren.com).
Shan Re is one of the most... versatile artists in India having explored a wide array of subjects and genres such as abstract expressionism, minimalism, figuration and geometric abstraction in several group and solo exhibitions in Bangalore, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco since the year 2000.
Shan’s strength lies in her ability to invoke human sentiment with minimal detailing, flowing colors and simple forms. Her abstract works are exuberant and compelling - the boldness and harmony of lines and colors imply a sense of joie de vivre, a celebration of life.
Speaking about The Eternal Spring Shan Re says, “This series has been inspired by nature and spirituality…the vibrant moods of nature are a reflection of the magical pictures that resonate in my mind. The abstract genre allows me to express myself freely as I work rapidly with a great deal of confidence without any conscious effort. The Eternal Spring is a metaphor for preservation of inner peace in a time of chaos and conflict and it has been my endeavor to portray a kind of beauty that is time…”
Shan Re's work is in important private and corporate collections in India, United States and Europe. She currently lives and works in Bangalore. She is always possessed by the idea of creativity and reinvents herself constantly.
About Arco Iris Boutique Homestay:
"Arco Iris”, meaning "Rainbow" in Portuguese, is a 200 + year old, elegantly restored colonial house built on a sprawling 1.5 acre property. It overlooks a seasonal lake. The proximity to the lake and the abundant greenery, in and around the property, ensures a scenic ambience right through the year.
Arco Iris is located in Curtorim, a quiet village in South Goa, about 7kms from Margao. The village is dotted with seasonal lakes and paddy fields and is often referred to as the “Granary of Goa”. Besides being popular with bird watchers as a destination and the attendant photo shoot opportunities that it affords, Curtorim and its adjoining villages house several places of historical interest.
