Following the free screening of Dr strangelove and 2001: A Space Odyseey, the third movie A Clock Work Orange will be screened on 12th Feb followed by the discussion‐ film appreciation by Jeroo Mulla.

Jeroo will trace recurrent themes, patterns and leitmotifs, Kubrick tackled.

ABOUT STANLEY KUBRICK
Kubrick was noted for the scrupulous care with which he chose his subjects, a slow method of working, the variety of genres he worked in, technical perfectionism, reluctance to talk about his films, and reclusiveness.

All of Kubrick's films from the mid‐1950s onward, except The Shining were nominated for Oscars, Golden Globes, or BAFTAs. Although he was nominated for an Academy Award as a screenwriter and director on several occasions, his only personal win was for the special effects in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Many of his films created controversy. He voluntarily withdrew his film A Clockwork Orange(1971) from Great Britain, after its violent scenes were accused of inspiring copycat crimes, resulting in threats against Kubrick's family.
DVDTalk notes that in the 2001 documentary Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures several of the directors interviewed "refer to Kubrick, almost universally, as one of the great directors ever to walk the face of the Earth.
