 The CEC is a surrounded by a sprawling, undulating forest. Summer, monsoon and winter bring with them changes that are unique to these seasons. Its proximity to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park is an added bonus, for much of the richness of plant and animal life flows into the Centre’s environs. Occasionally, a leopard roams the terrain and sambar deer forage around in the late evenings, frequenting the water hole behind the building. Troops of bonnet macaques and hanuman langurs assemble on the towering trees around the Centre. Salim Ali point is the pinnacle of the BNHS reserve, offering a panoramic view of the reserve and the adjoining the National Park. The point gives the most scenic view of Vihar lake. During the current season, the forest turns into a bird-watchers paradise, with a myriad of songsters that come visiting. There are five different trails goes through the BNHS reserve. You can spend an entire day on the BNHS Reserve exploring all five trails while enjoying nature. Watch the birds, insects as they flit through flowering trees… Look out for the tell tale signs of large mammals… Even spot some!!! Trek to the highest point of our Reserve- The Salim Ali Point. Enjoy food in the nature’s own lap.
