“Poems on the Underground”, a programme through which poems are quite literally displayed on the underground tube network in London, on posters placed in advertising spaces, comes to India this year in the avatar of “Subverse”. A performance piece featuring dramatised renditions of works from the Poems on the Underground anthology, “Subverse” will be staged by a ten-member cast of actors, singers, and dancers, who will also render, in Indian languages, companion pieces that share with the English verses a commonality in terms of theme, mood, or setting.
