 Women’s Day Celebration 2012

International Women’s day 2012  event is annually held by LIFE Trust  to celebrate Anganwadi teachers and Sevika’s  achievements and felicitate them from the slums of Dharavi,Wadala,Shivri and Bandra. Women’s Day celebration on 8th March,2012 between3 pm to 6pm at Yashvantrao Chavan Natya Sankul. Manmala Tank Road, Near Plaza, Behind Tata Indicom Gallery, Opp. Bombay Glass Factory, Dadar (W), Mumbai 40016.

We believe in empowering women and felicitate them, who have done phenomenal work in their respective field. We  invite1500+womenfrom the community. Through aconcept called Meri Awaz. We distribute1500 Meri Awaz forms.  The objective of this concept is to bring out the best leaders amongst the community. We awardbest three Anganwadi teachers with cash award of Rs 25,000 each to create a model Anganwadi. The event will include stage performances from the women.They will be singing, dancing and also walk the ramp and participate in competitions like hair styling,saree draping etc.

 The celebration brings together  Anganwadi teachers and helpers (sevikas, madatnis) Supervisors, government officials and women from the community, working in several international and private sector organization under one roof.  The agenda of the day was to award the best Anganwadi Sevika and Madatni and give them platform to showcase their talent and express their joy. When women are supported and empowered, societybenefits at large. Their families are healthier, more children go to school, agricultural productivity improves and incomes increase. In short, communities become more resilient. LIFE Trust ,firmly believes that empowering women to be key change agents is an essential element to achieving the end of hunger and poverty. Wherever we work, our programs aim to support women and build their capacity.

 International Women’s day gives an opportunity to celebrate acts of courage by extraordinary women around the world. The power of women in different form is accepted in form of Asthalaxmi who is the giver of prosperity, economy and safety of all.
