What troubles you regarding traffic or pedestrian safety at that location?:
Kalbadevi is one of the most busiest streets in Mumbai. This is a densely populated commercial-cum-residential area. But walking through this Kalbadevi stretch is a nightmare. You never know when you will be hit by a handcart or a two-wheeler. There are several traffic cops posted on two primary points, one at Cotton Exchange and the other at Old Hanuman Lane, but even they turn a blind eye to the mafiagiri of these hand carts and tempos. Double parking is rampant and has been a sore point for the residents of this street from a long long time.
What do you recommend be done as a solution?:
1) Increase the width of the footpath on either side 2) Make barriers on the footpaths so people strictly walk on the footpath 3) Remove any hawkers and any shop extensions on these footpath and if any shop breaches, put heavy penalties on them 4) Disallow any tempos / pickups / taxis to double park on the entire stretch of Kalbadevi Road 5) Make clear Lane markings
