BETTER IMPLEMENTATION OF STOP LINE AT SIGNALS
Name of Road:
GOREGAON JUNCTION OF WEH

Category of suggestion:
What troubles you regarding traffic or pedestrian safety at that location?:
This is not specific to a road or area(Had to fill in the fields as it was mandatory), It is a common problem across the city and that is POOR IMPLEMENTATION OF STOP LINE. The crossings n junctions sometimes do not have a clear stop line marked. More importantly, awareness n implementation is very poor. At least one lane for every incoming traffic is always blocked, leading to lesser vehicles being able to cross on every green light, leading to a congestion. Traffic n esp 2 wheelers keep inching ahead and block the other roads.
What do you recommend be done as a solution?:
Every signal cannot have a fly-over and it is not needed either. Even developed countries do not have it. But flow of traffic on signals is much improved by the following - 1.... Stop line awareness and implementation. 2.... Good road condition at junctions for faster movement of traffic. 3..... More free left turns with nice small decorated islands/dividers. 4..... Yellow box concept as followed in many countries.
Is there a traffic violation or specific incident that has triggered this suggestion?:
No. This is every-day and every-where in Mumbai.
